Jerejak Getaway

A reunion vacation, to be exact, left various memories in me this year. Pains, embarassments, exhilaration and contentment enveloped me during the adventure of jerejak island. Even though I'm not an extreme and outgoing person, this retreat had all the extreme ones to be explored.

In Penang, there are not many places offering extreme activities, such as flying fox, wall climbing and abseiling. Only after 19 years of being part of Penang family, I realised the isolated island next to Penang had it all. Jerejak Island was once the rehab center for the sick and not being developed before 90's. When we stand beside the beach next to Queensbay mall, Jerejak is just a normal quiet island and nothing much to discover. However, things happened to be different where this isle actually has what a tourist desire for. Apart from having diverse flora and fauna, there is a resort that operates all the extreme activities and holiday packages. If anyone feeling inadequate after days of travelling around Penang, why don't we take a glimpse at this isle and explore.

Back to the reunion. Since I will be leaving M'sia couple of weeks from now, my best friends from the secondary school planned a reunion vacation to Jerejak island. Usually, we would prefer meeting up at shopping malls. But now, it was worth to be remembered and rejoiced. On that day, the weather seemed not to be pleasing at all. Drizzling of rain drops began filling up the blue sky and breezy wind blowing. After minutes of close discussions, we finally agreed to ignore the rain and go on with the plan. We have chosen the day-trip package which includes lunch, 2 way ferry fare and extreme activities. This package would be not valuable at all if it rained heavily on that day. Fortunately, all the activities were allowed to be carried out.Let me explained what the pains, embarassments, exhilaration and contentment were about.
Pains = There were bruises around my toes and lower leg. This was due to minor injuries while climbing the man-made wall. I have never done wall climbing before this. It was so hard for me to push my whole body up and reach the peak. My arms were tingling and I had to bear with muscle pain. At last, I gave up half-way and came down with the help of the trainer. Without my realisation, I found out that I suffered from minor injuries on my leg.

Embarassments = This happened whilst I was having my buffet lunch. After picking up some fruits and lasagna, I went back to my seat inside the air-conditioned restaurant. All of a sudden, I was knocked down by a transparent down and the 'bang' sound shocked everyone in the restaurant, including my friends. My foods were all over the floor and only several pieces of fruits were on the plate. I couldn't imagine that I didn't notice that half the door was tightly shut. What I could remarked after this incident is my greediness and recklessness have played their vital roles on this.

Exhilaration and contentment = This escapade was in fact full of joy and excitement. Besides having breathtaking beaches and hills, the extreme activites have made the trip even more interesting. I had a chance of playing all sorts of high scale activities and sports. Beach volleyball and netball were among the craziest ones. The feeling of being away from Penang island was indeed different and amazing.
All I can say about this trip is unforgettable. Although certain things, for example unplanned activities, unprofessional tour guide, satisfactory buffet lunch and inadequate facilities, didn't up to my expectation, jerejak island should be massively developed into an isle of dream for tourists because of the untouched native forests and stunning beaches. Overall, I still enjoyed the vacation and appreciated the time I had with my pals.

My cousin's wedding

Happiness and glee filled the open air where a couple has been officially pronounced as husband and wife in front of all closest relatives. Nothing has stopped their will and power of love to take an eternal oath which cannot be broken as their wish. Everyone has witnessed the bride and bridesgroom to amble gracefully and romantically along the red carpet and they are my beloved cousins.

By knowing each other through a renowned social network, Facebook, they began their journey of love and slowly blossomed. They relentlessly endured each challenge that obstructed them. At any moments, trusts were built and patience was seeked. They understood that they need respects and preserverence to maintain their pace of love. Finally, they connected one another with a bond that was hard for others to describe and imagine. Only they themselves could plant the seeds of relationship within the bond and enabled them to flourish. With two separated wedding dinners plus a traditional wedding ceremony, it was a sheer delight for the lovely couple. They have made it this far and for sure, blessings from their parents formed an adventure of affections that never ends.

As a sign of wishing them all the best and happy marriage, I bought several clothings to match the wedding ceremonies but not too striking (If not, I might steal the show and after all, I was not the main character for the wedding dinners). The ceremonies were held in Alor Setar, which is a couple miles away from my hometown. When I reached the home of my aunts, I was served with simple yet decent delicacies even though I couldn't meet the couple yet. The atmosphere was hectic and harmony at the same time. With kids playing around the living room and babies crying, the situation became tensed but I didn't mind at all because in Chinese community, it is a norm, especially during wedding nights. To my shock, I was called to be bridesmaid and no further instructions were vividly given. I was told to assist the bridesgroom for any circumstances. At last, I was overwhelmed for the next day as it was a memorable experience for me to actually be with the bridesgroom and welcome the bride. When time hit 8 o'clock sharp at night, the usual wedding melody was played and everyone who came for the wedding night put up their grin and warmly welcomed the couple to enter the hall. 8 dishes of chinese cuisine were subsequently served on each table. When wedding dinner nearly ended, it was the highlight of the night where the couple intimately performed a song on the stage and every spectator cheered for them.

There were many wedding ceremonies that I attended before but frankly speaking, this was the most superb and remarkable one ever. I couldn't imagine myself being a bridesmaid for a day. Although mine one is still a long way to go, I have actually sketch out mine in my mind. Haha... To end this, I wish best of luck to all newly wed couples and may your wedding wishes come true.

B'day Party

It was a private one. It was simple and not complicated. It was complete and satisfying. It was a blessed one...A Birthday Party.

Again, my usual birthday party was celebrated at home. Due to holidays, no one was free for me. Everyone was busy hanging out with their families and partners. I was alone accompanying my family. At night, my family bought a cake and boiled several red eggs to be served during the party after heading back from a restaurant. It was pretty slow and steady. Nothing special to be known by others. However, things happened to be different compared to previous years. There were two incidents that made me feel blessed and outstanding at the same time. First of all, it was my friends from the college. Few days ago, I received a present from them coming all the way from other states to Penang and honestly speaking, that one was the best gift ever. It was the latest CD album from Taylor Swift, who is one of my favourite singers. This present made my birthday to be delightful. It was a friendship present and I would never forget that.

Next, it was about my results. Yaya...the exam results, which I have mentioned in previous blog posts. Since the date where the results were announced was so close to my birthday, I would certainly consider that as my birthday gift. The gift was so special that could certify my visit to NZ next year. No one can understand my feelings about my results as this gift had changed my miserable hols into a perfect one. With these results, I had made my life much easier and everything went smoothly, especially for my visa app and uni offer.

Although my birthday was not thrown out in a huge crowd, I was pleased with all the gifts I received this year. Thank you again for those involved in making my birthday to be the most memorable one.

Coupons Day

Few days ago were the most sufferous and horrible lunch ever. My stomach was so full and can't even walk properly after having the lunch. There were moments where I wanted to vomit but I held on or else it would be the embarassing one. What happened!!

The story went like this. Weeks ago, the membership card application for kim gary restaurant caught my eye on it and I finally made up my mind to have one. By spending rm15, I'm eligible to have several coupons and 10% discount while dining in. There were valuable vouchers on my hand, man. I couldn't imagine it as I'm one of the regular customers and I don't normally get these priviledges. It's once in my lifetime. The joy engulfed me at that moment and couldn't wait to use all the vouchers for the following visits. After then, my attendance to kim gary suddenly became so frequent due to the enormous attraction from the vouchers. Until 2 days ago, I had to have lunch at kim gary as that was the only restaurant offering reasonable foods and cozy atmosphere. Of course, this was also part of my excuses to use all the vouchers I have. In December, free choc ice-blended was given and I ordered the normal lunch meal as well. Upon finishing the bowl of rice, my stomach started not feeling well due to the unsual mix of choc and rice and coffee. But still, I kept telling myself to finish the meal entirely before I left the restaurant. The place was almost empty and my eating pace was quicker than I expected. At the same time, my stomach had to be victimised for my stubborness. When everything was done, I left with a satisfying yet pale looking face. I couldn't stop thinking of throwing out while the cold air-cond made the situation getting worse and worse. Then, I tried so hard to calm myself down and began thinking something else besides eating and vomitting. Few minutes later, I finally got an unusual blurp and things came back to normal. From barely walking to pale looking expression, it was indeed a terrible experience of having lunch.

Before I could take a rest, more coupons were luring my attention. Luckily, it was not about FOOD anymore. Red Box 1st avenue was giving out free membership card plus some freebies. That eventually balanced up my misery of kim gary lunch. Soon, I did realise that all these vouchers weren't that worth in any ways. They do save your pennies but after all, these business companies earn back the pennies you saved and part of business strategies is applied.

Feelings: Ups and downs

SACE results were to be revealed early this morning and I barely even slept. The anxiety and adrenaline rushed down my spine and I couldn't stop pondering over how the results would be. I tried so hard to get into sleeping mode but still it didn't work as I desired. It wasn't a big deal to face these results as I encountered the same exam before. Yet, the sudden anticipation was so hard to resist. Gosh!!

As everyone knows, this final exam really means a lot to me because it is a golden ticket for me to complete my journey to overseas. SACE exam is nothing but a public exam taken by students all over Asia Pacific with the aim to step into the door gate of tertiary education. When I first looked at my results, I was in a complete shock as it is way out of my expectation. Not only I scored distinctions for all subjects, I will even grasp the merit certificates on my sweaty hands soon next year. I couldn't believe it in my eyes. These perfect scores are always be my bonuses but not scoring subjects at all. After scrutinizing my results, facebook was my second destination while onlining. Chatting with my friends and sharing the results finally made me realise that this year, every student of my batch have truly rocked their exams extremely well. 8-year record has even be broken unexpectedly.

Thank you so much to my beloved lecturers for your continuous guidance and assistance. Thank you so much to my beloved friends for your support along my study in ausmat and last but not least, thank you so much to my parents and elder brother. Without all these, I can never make it till this heartwarming moment. Thank you...

Winter clothes collection

No one can deny that end of the year is a perfect timing for shopping, especially clothings. For guys, it won't be too excessive when it comes to fashion. Simple yet cool and sleek is definitely fine. To me, this year-end holidays are different than previous ones as I'm going to visit NZ next year. Winter clothes are indeed necessary!

Luggage and sweaters are the main items in the winter clothes collection. They give you the comfort and convenience you need while travelling. Before all these are purchased, I always kept in mind that cautious spending is vital due to the exorbitant price. At least, the quality is there. When I stepped into shopping malls, there is a range of shops selling winter clothes and luggages which made me even harder to pick the nice ones. All the shops do have huge discount offers but unfortunately, they are not inexpensive and trendy at all. After hours of wandering around those shops, I found a shop which was less known by most of us and surprisingly, the costs of the clothes are quite affordable and exactly the type I'm looking for. From this, I started to know that with all the commercials and sales pamphlets, they won't give you the big picture of what you actually need. Sometimes, it doesn't worth the price. As a student like me, I don't have to have lots of these winter clothes and luggages. One or two is enough for me. Careful planning of your savings and selecting wisely are essential as it can help you save money besides giving you the right satisfactions.

Cityville and "How I met your Mother"

Cityville, newest Zynga game in facebook and "How I met your Mother" movie series have made my boredom drifting away for these long winding holidays. I can't believe I just said long winding because holidays should be fun and exciting but it turned out boring to me.

After days of gloomy sickness, I have come back alive healthily and rejuvenated. I have been spending literally all my time in facebook, playing free games. Cityville is one of the best among all. It is not dull, not sickening and most importantly, not childish at all. It is perfect choice for everyone to play during free time. Basically, it is about constructing homes and business premises to earn money and expand. Although it does make myself feverish sometimes as I need to stare at the computer for a long time to complete the game, I still love it.

As for the movie series, I started watching it since last month till now and it is funny, seriously. I can't stop catching up the episodes as the plots are dramatic and lame (LOL). The characters are so stubborrn and hilarious at the same time when it deals with relationships and friendships. They will never be serious on certain things. I still can't imagine that they truly hang out at the same bar all night long for almost everyday. One more thing I remember about that movie is how Barney speak and chat with his pals. His expressions and metaphors and actions are amazingly nuts. I just can't wait for the next few episodes showing on tv.

p.s. All in all, these two entertainments apparently fill up my whole holidays besides waiting patiently for my results to be announced soon. I really hope these holidays end asap.

Sick !!

Diarrhea and fever came by so fast that I couldn't resist them now.

They are haunting me now and I can't find a solution to get rid of these in a short time. I'm suffering now. I have been visiting the restrooms frequently and the cold weather even make me look pale all the time. All I can do now is to pray hard that these illnesses won't stay that long.

From now on, I need to pay extra attention to my diet and lifestyle...That's all

Fly directly to NZ

When Air Asia announced the latest international flight to christchurch, new zealand, I was so delighted and relieved that this airline will save plenty of my time to transit and money as well.

There is no doubt that more airlines should be made available to new zealand due to the greater demand from the public and travelling frequencies to the youngest country in the world. Since I will be pursuing my tertiary education down south at dunedin, the journey from my university to christchurch will be definitely shorten. Even though air asia X remains as a low-cost carrier and passengers have to bear with the cramp condition in the aircraft, it is considered cheap and affordable. At the same time, this new airline will sure introduce and attract more tourists from Malaysia to discover the dashing beauty of New Zealand, experience the extreme activities, such as bungee jump, skydiving and many more as well as indulge in Maori culture.

If anyone would like to travel overseas, I would recommend New Zealand as one-stop tourist destination! Thanks to airasia for promoting New Zealand as 100% spectacular place in th world. :)

LOL movie day

What I could describe myself this afternoon was a "FOOL" word. This is how it goes...

As usual, to brighten myself up in lonely hols, I made my way to the nearest cinema to catch the latest movie screened. After hours of searching the list, I finally decided to watch Rapunzel: Tangled, which was the only movie that I didn't watch before and caught my interest to it. Upon arrival at the cinema, I kept looking at my watch to make sure I didn't miss the movie at 1:10pm. Luckily, I was there on time. Subsequently, I bought my ticket and it was almost 1:10pm. Without second thought, I rushed to the another counter and grabbed a combo set of popcorn. Next, I sat on the bench and patiently waiting the screen signal to light up. At the same time, my eyes were checking on the time. After half an hour, I started losing my patience and furious due to the delay. No one stood up and tried asking. Seriously,, I have never experienced this before but it happened on me this time. I stomped with disappointment at the box office, seeking for explanations. To my shock, the cashier told me that it was not opened yet and my curiousity kept messing up my mind. Everyone was eying on me. It seemed like I had done something wrong. Then, I went back to my seat and finished my popcorn.

When my watch struck 2:10pm, all of the sudden, the screen signal lighted up and people began entering the movie hall. I was completely amazed as the movie delayed for an hour but still no one complains. There must be something wrong. I missed my lunch because of this. When I let the movie crews to tear off the movie tickets, I asked, "Why so late?" and the movie crews gazed at me and answered, "It was 1pm!" Shock overwhelmed me and I was speechless because I finally realised my watch was not working properly. The clock moved faster for an hour. I couldn't imagine I was the one who was so silly about the screening time. I had to have my lunch at 3pm which is quite late. Plus, it was raining during that time and I had to head home with my clothes drenched.

Should I remark that I had a bad luck today?? Perhaps but fortunately, "Rapunzel: Tangled" did not let me down...=.=''

Done with medical checkup

After two days of medical checkup, I can finally take a long rest at home. As being part of the procedures, I had to go around several clinics and hospitals to complete all the compulsory medical tests.

The first government medical checkup has been done before I was awarded the scholarship. It is completely the same. I really don't know why before my dad toldme that all the tests will expire six months later, especially X-ray. Yesterday morning was the hectic one. Besides taking medical checkup, I had to send pos laju to Putrajaya for the application of good conduct cert. In the early morning, I had to wake up with my half-opened eyes and prepare all the necessary documents. To avoid traffic in and out of the hospital, reaching there earlier is the only way. Lucikly my dad is working in the hospital. He could make sure that I complete all the tests in split seconds. During the tests, blood sample was takenand injection wasn't that painful at all...but still, I can feel the numbness of my arm. The next stop is the X-ray room where X-ray of my upper body was taken.

Finished wif medical checkup, I have to go for lunch and take additional photos for the application purpose. Upon sending in the pos laju, I need to double check the doc. Plus the weather. It was hot and cold at the same time which really made me feel sick but not the serious one. The next day was much simpler and faster. I only had to complete the medical tests in one private clinic. All in all, it was a great experience and wish that I can fly to NZ successfully soon...

End of Academic years in M'sia

About a year and a half ago, I was shocked with the receive of JPA scholarship to a whole new place in south hemisphere. To gear up, foundation has been built not just preparing myself mentally, but also physical, emotional and friendship.

It was an awesome experience I ever had in my past 19 years as pre-uni year changed me into a new different person. I have started to take one step ahead to be bold enough to speak and learn. I Going through this short journey wasn't that easy as it seemed. I was surrounded by young brilliant students who are fully equipped with intelligent minds. To face them, it was my hardest thing to do. My mind started going out of the place as I kept comparing my own results with others, which made me feel miserable and low in self-esteem. In the end, I set aside all these useless thoughts and began to believe in myself entirely.

Previously, I was often labelled as the quiet and passive guy in college. I seldom mingle around and meet with new pals. Also, people kept telling me that I was over-stressed in each and everything even though I don't think it was a stress at all. Worse, I was called as one of the study nerds. Gosh! Soon, I realised that it didn't work since tertiary studies should be more in getting along with each other, be active and have fun. I did participate in clubs and societies to further enhance my abilities and skills.

One more important thing I know is that I was not alone in any complications. I had my roomates to offer me help and support to me. I had my classmates to guide me in my studies. I had my lecturers who are the fireflies which fly around and share the brightest moments. These have indeed make my life more interesting and wonderful.

Now, I’m alone at home having ample rest before departing to overseas. Online and facebooking keep me busy all the time >< style="font-style: italic;">

P.S.
I will never forget every single piece of "puzzle" which has fully connected and turned into who I am right now.
